Michael married Laura Green and went to work on the railroad. He worked on the IB&O and they lived in Irondale until they moved to Bancroft.
Mike ran the Bancroft Hotel with his sons Cecil and Michael (Nub) from the 1940’s. The boom years of the uranium mines saw son Nub open a surveyors office in the basement of the hotel with a separate entrance off Bridge Street. There were guest rooms, a fine dining room and a restaurant. The Colonial buses stopped on the corner and it was always a bustling place.
Mike was always busy and always coordinating the many activities at the Bancroft Hotel.
